About Namibia

Formerly known as South West Africa, Namibia is on the South Western tip of the African Continent. It has borders with South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Angola. With a population of about 2.1 Million inhabitants and an area of 824292 km², Namibia is famous for the highest sand dunes in the world at Sossusvlei and for the Etosha National Park, one of world's greatest conservation areas.
Namibia is distinguished by the Namib Desert along its Atlantic Ocean coast. The country is home to diverse wildlife, including a significant cheetah population.
The capital, Windhoek, and coastal town Swakopmund contain German colonial-era buildings such as Windhoek's Christuskirche, built in 1910.
In the north, Etosha National Park’s salt pan draws game including rhinos and giraffes. A visitor to Namibia will also see the Damara tribe as well as the country's only Semi nomadic Himba tribe.
